Book Fair
Book Fair

The Fall and Spring Scholastic Book Fairs are the main source of income for our CCE Library. Parents have the opportunity to add popular titles to their child's home library at great prices. Parents may also choose to donate books to their child's class. Book Fairs are held in the CCE Multi-Purpose Room and are staffed by parent volunteers.

BRAVO! Music Appreciation

Bravo is a music appreciation program for children in Kindergarten through upper elementary grades that aims to affect students in their ever-changing world by providing opportunities for them to enjoy, experience, participate in and be challenged by classical music.

CDC

Before and after-school childcare is available through the César Chávez Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC is operated by Child Development Inc. (CDI) on the CCE school grounds in the northwest corner of campus.

Climate Committee

The Climate Committee believes CCE to be a positive learning environment and strives to maintain and cultivate this environment through various programs and efforts. These efforts include a yearly climate survey of parents, staff and grade 3-6 students; formalized transition teams to address the integration of MME students to CCE, and kindergarten to first grade playground transition; parenting workshops on bullying and other climate issues; and support of other CCE efforts such as Playworks, Kelso's Choices, and a counselor position.

Garden Program
Garden Program

The CCE Garden program began in 1994 with only a handful of teachers and classes participating. Today the gardens cover nearly 7,000 square feet and serve an important role in student learning.

Kindergarten Camp

An introduction to Spanish Immersion kindergarten for incoming kindergarteners. One week (four days) of daily interaction with a group of approximately 20 students for about 1½ hours per day. This fun program is taught by a Kindergarten teacher and organized by SIPAT.

Parent Education Meetings

Throughout the year, the two SIPAT Parent Education coordinators (VP, Parent Education and VP, New Parent Integration) help Principal Denise Beck organize and present informational meetings and materials related to starting Spanish Immersion, helping your child learn to read, transitioning to intermediate grades, kindergarten information night and more.

Playworks

Playworks is a parent-volunteer led program intended to facilitate positive play in our schools. Sponsored and funded by SIPAT, this program began during the 2011-2012 school year. The Playworks Mission...To improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play. Volunteers needed!

Running Club

Running Club is open to first through sixth graders, and Kindergarteners with a guardian. The goals of the program are to get kids excited about physical activity, help children make healthy lifestyle choices, build friendships through exercise, and insure that each child experience personal success.

The CCE School Counseling Program offers a range of services including class lessons, small groups and individual counseling. The school counselor is available on-site Thursdays and Fridays.

Student Council

The CCE Concejo Estudiantil (Student Council) is an important student leadership program for 4th-6th grade students. Two classroom representatives from each class in 4th, 5th and 6th grades are elected by their classmates to attend weekly Concejo Estudiantil meetings during Wednesday lunch.

WBBC Program
WBBC Program

CCE's WBBC Program supports all activities that decrease the car flow traffic around the school and that promote keeping kids moving. This program includes the WBBC (Walk, Bike, Bus and Carpool) to School Program, Bike Rodeo, Bike Month, and Bike Swap.
