School Counseling

The CCE School Counseling Program offers a range of services including class lessons, small groups and individual counseling. You may contact the CCE school counselor Melinda Coates by email at mcoates@djusd.net or by leaving a phone message at (530) 757-5490 ext. 108.

The goal of providing counseling services schoolwide permits the CCE school counselor to spend the majority of her time going into K-6 classes presenting age-appropriate lessons on topics such as: Kelso's choices (conflict management skills program), social skills, resolving friendship problems, conflict resolution styles, creating positive reputations, bullying, etc.

Kelso's Choices

Kelso's Choices is a conflict management program presented to all CCE students. It is an effective method of solving conflicts with their peers and others. Kelso's Choices posters are available in each classroom as a visible reminder of acceptable ways to manage difficult situations. These posters are presented below in both English and Spanish.
